Current Scholarship Students

Our Current Scholarship Students are:

"My name is Grace Price and I am going to be a Sophomore majoring in Strategic Communication at The Ohio State University!

Although I grew up in Naples, I was born and raised a buckeye! My parents grew up in Ohio, and my two aunts are OSU alumni who both work in the OSU hospitals - one as a nurse and one as a physical therapist. I have lived in Naples for almost all of my life, and I graduated from Gulf Coast High School along with my two siblings. When I got the opportunity to go to OSU, I was so excited! I am in Ohio State’s Marine Corps NROTC program, and I am extremely passionate and excited about getting to earn the title of U.S. Marine Corps Officer when I graduate. It is because of the NROTC program that I was financially even able to go to OSU, as it is an out-of- state school. I love the opportunities OSU has provided me with to become a better leader, and stronger in both my fitness and academics.

Outside of NROTC, I enjoy working out, boxing, music and theatre, and playing lacrosse. I am so thankful for the support the Naples Alumni Club is providing me, and I think it is incredible that so many buckeyes are located in my hometown. With this scholarship I will be able to continue to work towards my goals at OSU as well as in the military, and I will continue to enjoy the greatest campus and team in the nation. Go Bucks!!"

Once again, thank you so much for this opportunity.

My name is Jake Waleri and I will be entering my senior year at The Ohio State University.
I am extremely grateful that the club has once again granted me the opportunity to represent them at Ohio State as a scholarship recipient. I specialize in finance at OSU, but like to spend most of my free time outdoors when school is not in session. I'd like to thank all the generous local individuals who make this scholarship opportunity possible. I promise to make the Naples community proud and continue to excel in my studies at Ohio State in my last year of college.

My name is Amelia (Millie) Hanlon, and I am a senior at OSU with a marketing major and a video arts minor.
I work with the OSU Athletics Video Department as a production assistant. I film all sports including football, basketball, hockey, and volleyball. I am the Social Media Chairperson for GIVE, a volunteer and travel organization whose mission is to inspire growth, empower global citizens and ignite sustainable change worldwide. I am also a member of Undergraduate Business Women Association (UBWA) and Run Club. This summer, I will be interning at Bounteous, an international digital marketing company in Chicago.

My name is Austin (A.J.) Sweigart and I am a Forestry and Wildlife major with a minor in Human and Animal Interactions going into my third year at Ohio State. During my time at OSU I have been apart of their athletic and latin jazz bands, showed my school spirit at many athletic and school events, and have experienced incredible memories just within my firt two years that will stay with me forever. I am truly grateful for the support that has been sent my way by the Alumni Association, and hope to continue to be a proud representative of The Ohio State University and of my home town of Naples.

My name is Isabel Slaven and this fall I will be a 5th year at Ohio State studying Industrial and Systems Engineering with a minor in Business.
This summer I am working at DHL Supply Chain located in Westerville, OH as a Facility Design Intern on their Solutions Design team. Outside of the classroom, I am a part of the OSU Marching Band playing sousaphone and am extremely proud to be dotting the "i" twice this fall in Ohio Stadium (Youngstown State and Maryland!) as well as being selected as head squad leader of L-Row. On campus, I also work for OSU Rec Sports as a Group Fitness Instructor teaching weekly yoga classes.

Thank you so much for the ongoing support from the club and I look forward to seeing some of you later this year!
